DTA Receives Grant Support from AWEF and the Dunham Foundation
At Document the Abuse, growth has never been about scale for its own sake. It has always been about reach: how many more survivors we can support, how many more advocates we can equip, how much stronger the tools we build can become, and how many organizations can we unite.
That is why we are thrilled to share two new grant partnerships that will help carry this mission forward.
A $40,000 Investment in Growth from AWEF
The Aurora Women's Empowerment Foundation (AWEF) has awarded Document the Abuse a $40,000 grant to support our continued growth and expansion. This investment comes at a pivotal moment, as we work to reach more survivors and deepen the impact of tools like the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit (EAA), which gives survivors a structured, safe way to document their experiences on their own terms and at their own pace.
AWEF's support will help us expand our capacity to serve survivors well beyond where we started, and we are grateful for a funding partner who shares our belief that survivor agency should sit at the center of every tool we build.
A $3,000 Investment in Capacity from the Dunham Foundation
Alongside this, the Dunham Foundation has generously awarded us a $3,000 grant dedicated to capacity building. While this grant supports different work, its impact is just as meaningful. Capacity building strengthens the foundation underneath everything else we do, the systems, structures, and organizational health that allow our survivor-facing work to function and grow sustainably.
We are thankful for the Dunham Foundation who understands that strong infrastructure is what makes long-term impact possible.
Two Grants, One Shared Vision
Though these grants serve different purposes, growth on one hand and capacity on the other, they share a common thread: both AWEF and the Dunham Foundation see the value in investing not just in a program, but in an organization built to last and grow alongside the survivors it serves.
We are honored by their trust, and we look forward to continuing both relationships as future funding opportunities arise.
Partnerships like these remind us that this work is never done alone.
It takes funders willing to invest in survivor-centered solutions, advocates willing to keep building, and survivors willing to trust the tools we create.
To AWEF and the Dunham Foundation: thank you for standing with us. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long and meaningful partnership.
Document the Abuse is committed to building survivor-centered tools, including the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit (EAA), that help survivors document their experiences safely and on their own terms. To learn more about supporting our work, reach out to our team.
